This is the reason Yamato refused to join a straw hat in one piece. Yamato's appearance on Wano's bow managed to get the attention and heart of One Piece fans. They are happy with Yamato's figure, because they think he gives a new color to the story in the series. In fact, some fans also want Yamato to join the Straw Hat Pirate Crew.
There is no interesting character, like Yamato, who has no dreams. And One Piece itself is a series where almost every character that appears in the story must have a certain motivation, which keeps them excited about their adventure. And since his meeting with Luffy at the Kaido Palace, Yamato has told him all the information including his dream.
Besides having a dream to kill his own father, who is often cruel and rude to him, Yamato has a dream to get out of Onigashima and Wano. Yamato wants to sail in the sea of adventure in the outside world like his idol, Kozuki Oden. As we know, Oden managed to get out of Wano and joined the Whitebeard and Roger group.
This is what makes some fans assume that Yamato might join the Straw Hats, after everything is finished. Yamato will fulfill his dream to be like Oden by joining Luffy. In fact, in some chapters we see that there are things that can be a guide for this.
For example in chapter 1051 yesterday, where he himself said that he would join the Straw Hats. This clearly gave rise to the surprise crew of the Straw Hats. Jinbe himself said that everything was in Luffy's hands. Even so, the fans themselves believe that Luffy will accept Yamato as his new crew.
Not really joining
In chapter 1056 yesterday, we saw how Yamato was on the roof of Wano's palace and said that he had thought of his decision. Many fans think that Yamato will eventually join Luffy, but then a big surprise appears in chapter 1057. In that chapter, we see how Putra Kaido said that he did not join Luffy.
Why? According to him, he wanted to live life and adventure like Kozuki Oden. In the flashback of Oden we found out that before joining the Whitebeard and Roger group, he left "adventure" in the land of Wano. He conquered the Kuri region, where Oden became Daimyo or his regional leader.
Many things happened at that time, until he met Whitebeard who was stranded in the Ringo region. He also has time to force Starebeard to accept it. Everything that happened to Oden Yamato also wanted to do and feel. However, we still don't know what kind of adventure he will have while in Wano. Will he conquer the Kuri region again? Or is there something he will do with Momonosuke and The Red Scabbards?
What is also interesting is how Luffy firmly said that he would return to pick Yamato, along with Momonosuke and Kinemon, when they were ready to become pirates. It also made fans suspect that the straw hat crew was not only Yamato's arrival, but also Momonosuke and Kinemon who would be the next Nakama.
